Liv and Tereza were just outside the seedings, with the#4 seeds having a CR of 47.

I think you'd have to say Liv is the current best, but Maia is just over 3 years younger and might even surpass Liv's achievements in due course (Maia's ranking progress has been achieved at a younger age and she doesn't seem to have stopped progressing).

The past 3 meetings (with different partners on both sides) have gone to Maia.

The regular partner issue is double edged - Liv benefitted from splitting up with her previous partner and might have progressed faster if she'd split sooner (sorry if that sounds a little harsh - but just looking at the numbers).

Very Interesting original question Jon, and your follow-up re playing together intrigued me for I actually couldn't remember Liv and Maia ever playing together, and trawling back through their many years on tour they apparently have never partnered as seniors while both have had many British partners from pretty long-term to occasional to one-offs.

I too don't watch anything like enough doubles to use that to judge them relatively. But I do think that that now more than 2 year partnership with Mihalikova has been a great help to Liv. Mihalikova seems a really good player and one of a couple of BJK Cup doubles beat-downs I noticed that Liv has suffered in the last 2 years was actually against Mihalikova & Hrunkakova, while partnering Heather in the 2024 finals.

Maia's most regular partners over the last year or so have been Haverlag and Harriet, with whom she seems to gel well, but who has her singles priorities.

I lean ( and FWIW I see from Anna that there is now that small history of Maia+ H2H wins ) to Maia very much more on what I have discussed here than viewing.

By the way, as of now, I take it that still neither are in our BJK Cup finals squad?
