{Post corrected after getting Tennisfacts data}

Week 24 sees most of Tim's competitors in action.

Contrary to what was previously posted here, Tim does gain points as soon as he wins a match (against Agassi ), as his high 18th score became his 17th after last week at Roland Garros.

Also, Schuetler, who was his closest competitor drops back 40 points with his semi- final points from the Braunschweig Challenger last year coming off. So we don't need to stick pins in Rainer just yet after all.

Closest competitors are:

Mahut, who needs to reach R3 at Queens to overtake if Tim Loses to Agassi
Pavel and Schuettler, who need to reach R3 (QF) at Halle, but meet in R2.
Daniel, who needs to reach the final at Lugano
Dlouhy and Greul, who need to reach R4(QF) at Queens.

Note Marat Safin has gained a few positions today, just by being in the main draw (his 18th result was 0)

Pins for Dlouhy and Greul at Queens, and Pavel and Schuettler at Halle tomorrow!

Post deleted as new information comes to light rendering it both inaccurate and unnecessary!

Good luck to Tim this week and watch out to all his competitors, I've been hard at work this weekend

My previous post is just updated.  Tim's 18th score has dropped to 5, which means he (just) has to beat Andre to increase his points now! He still has nothing to defend from last year.

Tim wins looking quite comfortable so hopefully he can get some good points this week and start moving back upwards.

Fingers crossed!  Meanwhile, Pavel's just taken the first set against Baghdatis in Halle, and Seppi's beaten Sanguinetti......

Those sharp pins worked a treat on Schuettler (although he was beaten by Andy competitor Robin Soderling).

Next up Simon Greul (on form ) playing the "Qualifier" Verdasco, and Jurgen Melzer playing Gael Monfils.

Table updated for Monday.

Tim's the only one of his competitors who's ranking improved today

He's overtaken Jonas Bjorkman, who doesn't play until tomorrow. Schuettler, Dlouhy and Greul are all out of the equation. This leaves just Pavel, Bjorkman & Mahut as threats in the next couple of days.

Threats from behind tomorrow:

Bjorkman plays Wang at Queens, and will regain his place if he wins
Mahut plays Benneteau at Queens. He needs to reach R3 to overtake

First post updated.

Lots of movement at the top and the bottom of the table, but not much near to Tim.

Richard Gasquet jumps seven places in his effort to defend the 175 points he gained in Nottingham last year. Marat Safin is also climbing back up from his recent low point.

Near to Tim, only Mahut ended up playing between the rain showers at Queens, and won , although getting rid of an Andy challenger, Benneteau.

Threats for Wednesday: Bjorkman finally gets to play his first round match at Queens, which will take him past Tim again.  Mahut may play his second round match, which would also take him past Tim (Unfortunately the Queens order of play for tomorrow is not yet out) So it's a critical Pin- wielding day.

There's no- one ahead of Tim that he can catch in R2, tomorrow, but if he gets a quarter- final place, there's six places within his reach, especially if Starace loses in Lugano and Moodie at Queens tomorrow.

Things are starting well today.  Bjorkman's out, so's Moodie. Just Mahut and Mayer left to play today. Mahut's the big worry. Fingers crossed that Stepanek can do the business there!

I'd rather Mahut beat Stepanek and then Henman can take care of him his self.  I would rather Henman play Mahut than Stepanek.

That is if Henman is in the third round...although as I type he is up a set and a break in the second set.  2-1 Henman in the second set.

Good point - I'd not looked ahead in the draw. That's the problem with this thread, you kind of end up assuming your guy is going to lose, and then hoping that the top seeds win everything, while no- one in the 30- 100 range wins anything. A recipe for an ATP circuit with no depth!
