Queens rd1 - Baker v Fish

Jamie Baker plays fellow wc Mardy Fish in rd1. It's a winnable match, possibly the best draw Baker could have got considering the field.

The winner is drawn to face Nadal in rd2 but I think it's highly likely that if the RG final goes to 5 tough sets tomorrow and if Nadal loses and gets plenty of blisters he'll withdraw from Queens.

What are your thoughts on this match ?

I hope Baker can win, if only to prove to Queens how silly they were to give Fish a wildcard!

I agree it's a good draw, i'm sure Jamie will make the best of it.

Certainly is a good draw for Baker, but considering Fish has made a good comeback so far but that was on the hardcourts.. I'm not too sure how well Fish has done one grass but I guess he's not done too well..

C'mon Jamie win and you'll play Nadal..

Great draw for Jamie Baker! I really hope he sticks it to Fish for Mackin, Bloomfield and the others who should have had a wildcard!

It will be tough, and I fancy Fish to win but hopefully it will be a good match and Jamie will be able to do himself justice.

Really looking forward to this match, victory is definetly not out of reach for Jamie...believe he will need to be at his best and have his 2nd serve working throughout the match.  Anybody think that the BBC will show this match?

Is Court 1 televised?

I think it is televised yea...hhm...they might decide that they would rather show another match though instead of promoting one of the lesser known, but fast improving, British players.

Knowing them they`ll probably show Blake v Gimelstob instead (first on Centre court).
