Week 24 - LTA Wimbledon Wild Card Play-Offs - Aorangi Park, Wimbledon, Great Britain - Grass

With the event starting later this week, though it might be useful to put an event thread in (I think there is a chat one somewhere, but for the event itself) as the entry list and draw start to come to fruition

If anyone has a pdf link for the entry list rules, it would be great to post it here?!

Hope this is ok and not stepping on anyone's toes!

The men's ( and women's ).Q WC play-offs are apparently again being held on the Aorangi Park courts at Wimbledon.

Edit: ah Sammmm has just posted a link on the women's thread which confirms this.

Confirmed - see here - so have amended the subject line accordingly.

The entry cut off is 6pm Wednesday - so Felix and Jay may be challenged as they play tomorrow; win in Nottingham tomorrow and they could need a QWC or will miss out potentially .

Charles B and Oli C could be in the same position if they win their Dublin matches today

the top 13 by ranking as it currently stands for the play offs would be:

Felix G (still in Nottingham)
Oliver C (still in Dublin)
Jay (still in Nottingham)
Ali G
Charles B (still in Dublin)
George Loffs
Giles H
Hamish S
Paul J
Max B
Ryan P (is he fit?)
Anton
Lui Maxted

and then

Aidan Mc.
Emile Hudd
James Story

Quite a line-up, as I was just saying in the WC thread.

It's OK, we shared it over different threads     I was going to copy mine here, then saw ...

Charles B out of Dublin and so would expect he will be in Aorangi Park

Not too long ago that having a 2 at the beginning of your ranking would guarantee some sort of WC based on the lack of other options but the depth on the mens side now in that 100-250 bracket is fantastic. Now we know how the French feel when their faves miss out!

If all the players currently in the slots turn up, the top 13 as Indy posted elsewhere would be:

1. Felix G (still in action elsewhere)
2. Oliver C (still in action elsewhere)
3. Jay C (still in action elsewhere)
4. Alistair G
5. Charles B
6. George L
7. Giles H
8. Hamish S
9. Paul J
10. Max B
11. Ryan P
12. Anton M
13. Lui M

Plus wildcards:

14. Ben G-W (West Worthing winner)
15. NCAA top ranked Brit but must be in top 30 of NCAA rankings - Will Jansen ? (Lambda can correct me but he is the only player outside Ollie T who fits the criteria?)
16. General wild card - next in order of rankings are Aidan McHugh, Emile Hudd and James Story - if any of the players listed above don't make, presume they all have a decent chance of getting in, partic those top 3 who are still in Nottingham and Dublin as of today.

I'm not expecting George Loffhagen, although might be completely wrong, of course

Maybe he hasn't played simply because the events have been too rich and there's been no space for him

But, given his ranking, far more likely he's still injured

I think it's more likely that one of the youngsters will get the discretionary wildcard - Rhys Lawlor, for instance

So no WCs bssed on junior ranking with the men as opposed to the women. Seems strange?
