How weak is that draw...
Decent points to be earned compared to a short week in the UK, but decent prize money.

10 late withdrawals, and only 9 players left within the top 750

Is it on real grass or some sort of astroturf?

They actually look like really nice courts from the stream. Not sure how they'll hold up over the week but look good this morning.

I'd just had a look, before coming here - and they're green and lush and glowing - they look beautiful

Summer won 6-4, 6-2, and gets a very useful 5 ranking points, and counting...

This looks like a superb facility, and could be gamechanging for grass court tennis - while there might be a problem with the 50k purse, there's no climatic reason why they shouldn't be able to play on grass throughout the year in Egypt.

I wonder if it plays like traditional grass courts because it feels like the differences between surfaces have been reduced over the years? you don't see clay and grass court specialists in the way you used to even 10-15 years ago

Yes - doesn't it look beautiful?

And would really make Egypt stand out, give it a USP, so to speak

NB Am I mistaken, is it not 6 points for a R1 win at W50 level?
