I'm a little surprised that the women are contemplating playing in Egypt the week before the wild card playoffs. I can't see Vic or Esther getting QWC's directly.
There is no mention of any of our women at Ilkley???
Previously have enjoyed watching Sonay, Sam Murray, Harriet, Jodie, Marni, Ella, Hannah, Mimi, Lily, Millie, Laura ( rather a long time ago!) in singles plus many established plus up and coming doubles players.
Of course I also enjoy watching the rising stars from other countries, but seems a bit lacking from the Brits this year.
I'm going on Tuesday and Wednesday this year.
I narrowly missed an encounter with JonH last year who witnessed me swearing at Terence Atmane who nearly clobbered me while taking his frustrations out on the rolled up court cover right beside me. Yes, you really can get that close to the action at Ilkley. I thoroughly recommended it!

Field much stronger due to it being a 125 and limited other options for players prepping for Wimbledon qualies in particular. It'll weaken a bit but not like when it was an ITF (when it usually clashed with Birmingham 250 I think).

Its a shame for some of the youngsters. Remember Mimi getting her first WTA tour win here last year against Parks the number one seed. Some rich pickings for those players who have spent time prepping on grass?

They 'ruined' Surbiton, IMO, by bumping it up
And are, again just IMO, going to do the same here
In keeping with the no W15s ethos, simply putting richer and richer events on is only a benefit to the very established players and the one or two favourite elite hopefuls who the LTA will be pushing
