Ella seems to have managed to continue to play quite a lot of tour tennis while at college.

Has she been combining this with college tennis? And while they have all been US events that will clearly still involve a lot of travel.

I was a little surprised that she turned up here as she has played so much college tennis over the last few weeks.

LSU are the most relaxed among the women's college programs at letting their pro players go and play pro events. These are generally by agreement so they are around college matches where they supposedly can afford to be missed. But it does hurt them as a team with some surprise losses. It's why they are under-ranked and gave them a low seeding with 2 extra rounds to play than the top teams in the conference championships. LSU now have no matches until the NCAAs start at the end of next week which is why she and 2 of her teammates are here. Although she does have to travel from Norman, Oklahoma where her college team didn't finish their final until midnight UK time last night. So she will be travelling today to get to her match tonight.

Incidentally, I don't know what Ella's current thinking is around returning to college next year, but when interviewed at the beginning of March she hadn't made a decision.

Ella has also been entering the ITF events in the UK - so presumably was thinking of coming over at some point. I doubt whether she will though.
