Potentially good for Emma ( or Sonay ) that Emma has sneaked into the 24th seed spot, so she is bracketed against a 9 to 16 seed for R3 rather than a 1 to 8 seed. (11) Ekaterina Alexandrova is that seed.

Very interesting match for Fran!  Hope she is fit and well to go.

Katie has landed in an easier section as well, although I think that Muchova (seeded 13) is possibly under-ranked.

Potential Emma vs Sonay clash in round 2 would be fascinating

I always remember Laura Robson winning the Wimbledon Junior title at the age of 14. The commentator said "just think you could could be playing Venus Williams before long" Laura thought about it then with a cheeky smile said "Oh I will take her down". Of course she did just that a few years later.

Emma played Alexandrova twice last year, won the first and lost the second. Sonay hasn't played her yet.

Yes, one to look forward to, hopefully. The ITf and WTA say they have never met on tour - but I'd be surprised if they hadn't met in juniors at some time.

I remembered that there was this floating around from when they were very young

I seem to remember that Sonay beat Emma in an under twelves competition.
