The noise was pretty deafening, you've got to love it
Not sure, SC, but what we read last year was that he said he'd lost his confidence, was having a bit of a crisis of belief, in his serve, tennis, everything
I'm only guessing but I think it's still the issue

Indeed - I think he mentioned he got the tennis equivalent of the yips on serve, lots of doubles due to anxiety was mentioned.
Haven't watched any of Jake's matches this year, but like CD, the interviews I was reading last year suggested a major crisis in confidence, particularly on serve.
And Clém is a fine player - probably underranked. I watched him in that UK challenger, first week of Jan, when he beat both Toby and JoMo in tight matches to win the title, and he was playing at a very high level. He's also on home soil this week, and French challengers are more like ATP 250s in terms of facilities, crowds etc.
But still given that Jake has been to the top 50, his ceiling is far higher and you'd expect him to win.
