Yet again another player having problems with the LTA!! Shocking to read that race was an issue for her Either way as stated on the site, she's got the ability to do well.

Definitely. It`s sad to hear about the race issue. Hopefully she can get some funding together from alternative sources.
What a bizarre story. It's impossible to even guess at the rights and wrongs of this without knowing exactly what the contract in question said, but given the Clarkes' history with the LTA (and I wouldn't dare try to guess at the rights and wrongs of that spat either!), the idea that they were conspring with them behind the DL people's back seems ludicrous in the extreme, unless there were signs that things had changed under the Draper regime, which would have been relatively new at the time this happened, and hard to imagine that just talking to them would have been a breach of contract even if it had happened.
Whatever the rights and wrong of it though (and however you feel about players' 'entitlement' to funding or otherwise, I feel very sorry for Yasmin, who I imagine has just been caught in the middle of a big mess once again.
Btw, the reference to 17th in the national rankings when she is the 26th Brit in the WTA rankings isn't wrong, it just refers to the LTA ranking list - although that weights WTA points very heavily and generally follows the WTA rankings at the top end, Yasmin's domination of British Tour over the last few months (she leads this year's table with 4300 points, with Samantha Murray in 2nd on 1750, 2550 points behind!) lifts her 9 places in that list.

Don't have anything to add to the story (although I will read any further updates with interest) but finding this thread after almost 5 years is an incredible achievement!
Personally, I would rather she just played tennis. This is just another unnecessary distraction. She should use the money earned through her British Tour successes to fund her trips to play ITF events. If she's good enough she'll make it. This milk was spilled and dried up a long time ago.
Lucky for the OP Laddies didn't take the bet. I suppose this coming Wimbledon is still near enough within the 5 years but my gut feel is that Yasmin Clarke won't win it.
Agreed, she should just get on with playing the bloomin game! She is dominating the BTs, which while not lucrative should pay for some travel (and in any case GB & northern France together have plenty of tournies to fill a calendar, and we know that lengthy swings of 10ks exist like Antalya, Tunisia etc). From recent pictures she is not in top playing condition at present, so without being critical, she ought to concentrate to what she *can* control and not worry so much about the past (not that she might not have a very good case).
Well that's easy to say and harder to do. Seems to me that she has been getting on and playing tennis (err like at the BT events) but if you take the article at face value, it would be very difficult to walk away from a training centre that you were enjoying playing at if your legal contract was unceremoniously and illegally (you felt) dissolved.
Sounds to me like she has every right to appeal this decision, especially given the inter-relationship with the LTA. I certainly don't want any of our training academies treating young players like this, and if they do, they should be exposed.
