Hardly anyone, British or foreign, has it as their priority 1 event although as I always say priorities mean nothing at this stage of the entry process. They will change in many cases. With 4 higher ITFs and current priorities all suggest it could end up being quite weak. I guess not many know where Sheffield is
In the spirit of Seagull's method of listing priority 1 Brits and going a litle way into the alts we have Amarni in qualifying and Vic and Ranah just outside and Esther a little further down the alts. All should make it into at least qualies after withdrawals on Tuesday.
Looking down the alts its good to see Grace Piper enter I think her first pro event since graduating US College last year. She appears to be continuing in academia in Bristol and has been playing BUCS tennis. I'd think she would get a WC of some flavour if she asks.
Probably one for Lamba - what is the ruling on wildcards?
I assume Hannah will only get 4 ITF and if she needs one this week that will be her third.
However, i believe this doesnt apply to higher ranked ITF & WTA events and Hannah has a few JE to use(which i guess she will use overseas)

She will have no age restrictions on wild cards once she turns 17 next month. She will have the same restrictions as applies to everyone - 3 main draw wild cards for W35 - W100 plus up to 3 merit WCs (1 for each event she wins a match as a MDWC). There are separate allowances for W15s, WTA125 and WTA Tour. So for W35-W100s she has 1 standard main draw WC plus 2 merit WCs she earned at Manchester and Birmingham left to use and she can earn 1 more merit WC. As a 16 year old she can take 6 WCs (standard 4 plus an extra 2 for finishing the year top 5 junior) - that applies to all levels except Slams - and she has 2 remaining so that's not an issue for the little time she has left before her birthday.
