This isn't really tennis related, but as it's still the off season, I thought I'd share a little bit of proud, personal news. As some of you know, I'm a health and medical journalist.
I've spent the last three years researching and writing a book called The Age Code, which is all about the link between what we eat and how we age, and how certain small changes to how we eat/cook can help turn back/slow down the ticking clock.
Am delighted to say it's finally being published in April. Anyone interested can take a look here:
The Independent newspaper have listed it as one of their top books of 2026: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/features/books-2026-new-releases-b2880219.html

In his optimistic new book, the health journalist Dr David Cox sets about slowing down his own biological clock, and in the process lays out years of research to show that more important than any fad or gimmick is what you put on your plate.
Thanks so so much everyone! It was a fascinating and eye-opening journey delving into it all - and the interesting thing Indy, is that ageing scientists are increasingly finding that it's never too late to do things which can slow ageing and improve health. Meaningful differences can still be achieved, even for people in their 90s and beyond!
haha don't worry CD, I will still be on here very regularly! And thank you so, so much, please do spread the word :)
So Jon, one of the things which started me on this journey is that there are now simple tests which can measure different aspects of biological ageing (ageing is complex - there's more than a dozen intertwined processes happening at a microscopic level in your body which drive it, but even measuring one of them can tell you a surprising amount about your internal health, compared with what would be expected for your birth age). I took one of them - which measures how you're ageing at a DNA level - and it found that I was two years biologically older.
I did one five month dietary experiment and managed to reverse some of this, which was pleasing! Being consistent is always the challenge, but I've learnt a lot and there's several things I'm now doing on an ongoing basis. I've also learnt what 'my weakest organ' is, which is surprisingly useful to know (there's an adage in the ageing field, that you're only as young as your weakest organ).
