If you don't mind me copying and pasting from my post on the Rusedski site, here are a few results and draws from this weekend:
TENERIFE (ESP) 15K Future
Unranked Oscar Podlewski lost to an unranked Aussie in QR1 and unranked Antoni Gomez lost to an unranked Spaniard at the same stage. Unranked Alexander Hutchings beat an unranked Spaniard but then lost to (q14) another Spaniard in QR2. (q5) James Ward WR 1425 beat an unranked Spaniard after a bye in QR1 but then lost to lower-ranked (q13) in the final qualifying round.
UDINE (ITA) 10K Future
(q3) Alex Miotto WR 1241 got a bye in the first of just two qualifying rounds but then lost to an unranked NZer , though he is next in line for an LL place. A fantastic performance by unranked James Feaver though, who shocked compatriot (q8) Konstantinos Kalaitzis WR 1425 in QR1 and then beat another qualifying seed from NZ to make the main draw.
R1: Alex Slabinsky WR 603 v (4) Alessandro Piccari (ITA) WR 502 R1: (Q) James Feaver UNR v Tommaso Sanna (ITA) WR 661
Not the best draw for Alex, but these are the kind of players he's going to have to beat if he wants to move up. James will need to beat Sanna to get himself on the rankings, which is a tough ask, but at least he avoided a seed in R1!
PITESTI (ROM) 10K Future
(q4) David Brewer WR 1108 beat an unranked Israeli 0 & 2 and now faces an unranked Romanian for a place in the main draw while unranked Charlie Crisp lost to an unranked Romanian in QR1.
R1: Morgan Phillips WR 638 v TBA
Morgan pops up in Romania just after a couple of other Brits have left following dismal performances here. This is Morgan's first tournament since his first ever Futures title in Napoli then getting knocked out by the no. 1 seed the following week and he will be hoping to show Radu and Co. that some Brits can play tennis.
GAUSDAL (NOR) 10K Future
There are six Brits here, two of whom I've never heard of - all unranked unless otherwise stated. Nathan James lost his first match to (q12) from Latvia and Adam Webb and Luke Campbell lost to an unranked Norwegian and Latvian respectively , while (q11) Robert Dee WR 1529 got thrashed by an unranked player from Luxembourg.
Edward Allinson managed to win a match , beating an unranked Norwegian before losing a close match to the 7th qualifying seed. (q13) Richard Wire WR 1529 thrashed an unranked Swede in his first match and now needs to beat an unranked Syrian to make it to the main draw.
R1: Richard Irwin WR 750 v TBA
BANGKOK (THA) 10K Future
R1: Tom Rushby WR 825 v TBA
GORLOWKA (UKR) 10K Future
Unranked Michael Fedoseyev lost to an unranked Argentinian in QR1 but (q1) Myles Blake WR 990 thashed an unranked Ukrainian 1 & 0 and now needs to beat an unranked Russian to qualify.
