End of week one of 5 - not sure who is left this week - no one on the Friday feeling thread for sure, but maybe one or two in juniors still. Good luck to whoever is left and whoever plays later on in January!

It feels like this could be one of those months in which the field is v small, probably dependent on the Aus Open results, but still likely to be a single figure nomination list - and that is fine.

If you do think of someone over the next week and a half, please add them to the list above as number 3 and put their name and a reason. Just quote the post, add to it, tidy up the extraneous text, and post.

If we end up with just 2 nominees, by the way, and we most likely will get a number more, we will have a vote. There will always be a vote even if it is an anointment!

Nominations:

1. Arthur Fery - for qualifying for the AO main draw! Beat WR127, Prizmic, in the final round and qualified without losing a set throughout the tournament. Went on to win his opening match in the main draw, beating 20th seed Cobolli in straight sets, and as a result will easily achieve a new career high, possibly moving into the top 150

2. Luca Pow - the 20 yo US college player reached the SFs of both the singles and doubles at his 'home' Winston-Salem M25 event. The following week, at the same venue, he beat the top seed, Aryan Shah WR 394, in R1. Raised his singles ranking from 956 to about 850.

Updated Arthur now he is out.
