Zach has a decent shout at getting a win that would really help his ranking.

Not sure why theyre bothering with qualies. They could have put all 4 players into the main draw and dispensed with the byes in round one?

I thought the same but then came to the conclusion it must be some sort of weird rule. I guess also as they are all unranked locals so this means Pakistan will get two more ranked players with the points for winning in qualifyin.

L16: (ALT) Dinko Dinev (BUL) WR 757 vs (2) Jay Clarke WR 200

Dinev was a only a few points away from losing to 45 year old Aqeel Khan in R1, with the match being played on Aqeel Khan Centre Court.

Edited to amend Jay's ranking (the ATP's rankings were updated today) & to show that the Bulgarian is an ALT.

Zach lost the first set, served for the second (I think) but ended up in a tiebreak - which he played extremely well - on the front foot, coming to the net (as is his wont), the more entrepreneurial player - and won it easily, and deservedly

Into a third
