I have discovered that there should be a cedilla under the "s" (turning it into a "sh" sound), but can find no way of reproducing it in a way that would be supported by Activeboard in anything other than subject line.
There are lots of famous Oleksandr-s in Ukraine, and none of them seems to have a scedilla (which, according to Cambridge Uni, is how a cedilla under an 's' should be written)
But, yep, you can't copy and paste it in - accents are doomed

I was actually referring to the name of the venue, not Ovcharenko's name (I long ago gave up on eastern European accents/diacritics on here, so I don't even bother looking for them): the "â" works OK, but the cedilla under the "s" appears only in the subject line, for some reason!
