Week 38 - WTA500 - Seoul, Korea Hard

R1: Emma Raducanu (GBR) [8] WR 34 v Jaqueline Cristian (ROU) WR43

Probably gets Krejcikova in R2 and then Swiatek in QF.

It's the problem with being a low seed, you are bound to meet a high seed in the QF. Once she gets her ranking back inside the top 25 she should stand a better chance of avoiding top seeds until the SF. She has lost seven times this year to a top 5 player.

Emma is on third on Tuesday after a 6am start, not before 9.30am.

Draw becomes much easier if you're Kenin and Kenin is ranked just 3 places higher.

And that could just as easily have been Emma's draw. The 4 seeds from 5 to 8 have the same chances.

It would be good if she could be inside the top 25 by the Australian Open. Leylah Fernandez is at present ranked 25 with 245 more points than Emma, so it is certainly possible.
