You could close the vote at a random time. They can't vote at the last minute if they don't know when that minute is going to be.
I know - but then lots of well intending folk may miss it and also how do I decide when that random time will be! I could be biased!
I will live with it- it isnt the end of the world; more a plea to the person doing it - and I know who it is, its obvious - that it may be fun and interesting but it isnt necessarily fair or sporting to the other voters if the vote is done to disrupt rather than as a genuine vote.

I meant for instance if you were closing it at 9 you can actually close it at 8.57. I hardly think a lot will miss out doing that.

Thanks Brendan - got it. A few things Im considering and a couple of kind people like you have made contact on PM; got a few weeks to dwell on it!
thanks for your support!
my feeling is that the end result ends up being disrupted - Lloyd and Julian perhaps shouldnt have made the tie break vote; the tie break would have been Liv and Oli. That result could have gone differently and one of them would have won outright, possibly Liv, but it doesnt really matter. I dont have a problem with a tie at all, we had lots last year, its more exciting to see a close vote. But its the disruptive factor that bothers me.
I am pretty certain who it is - Im happy for that person to PM me and discuss it - and I hope this little debate makes them think about it for next time. It isnt just the PoM votes, it happened on other polls and the pattern is consistent with who i know it is that is doing it. The other polls dont really matter to me, PoM and PoS matter a lot more as I think of them as fun but serious representations of the board and our support for British tennis.
