On what basis is Petra Kvitova ranked 14?

That is her Special Ranking (she played Madrid without a wild card). Her actual ranking is currently 830

Edit:- now checked Madrid entry list to confirm the above.

Ilkley is the same week with Harriet our only direct entry to the main draw.

Is there one WC left? Surely going to Sonay?

Interested to see Eala in the field, that is good.

I think previous grand slam winners can request and be granted one still? Maybe why the last one hasnt been announced yet?

Next week. But don't expect the LTA or WTA to make them public.

It'll be interesting to see what choices, Fran, Heather, Jodie and the others make this week - whether they attempt what will likely be a stacked qualies draw at Queens or go for Ikley.

I'm assuming Fran will go for a Queens qualies WC, same for Heather and Jodie. And then maybe one for Mika (although Marni might be more deserving)?

Mika has a wild card to the main draw in Ilkley as part of her nationals prize package if she hasn't opted out of competitive tennis altogether for the duration of her GCSE exams. That isn't to say she couldn't choose to go for Queen's qualy instead.

Tempting though Queens maybe, I would have thought many of those mentioned would do better to play Ilkley and try and make some good progress/get a number of matches on grass?

But Fran hasnt entered Ilkley. He ranking would have put her in the main draw.
