That was the sinking feeling in my stomach that I was referring to in last week's thread

I read that info as Katie S gaining the walkover, but it is definitely the other way round. Playing three matches last week after a long time out, probably always meant this was likely - just hope it is a week or two off and nothing more serious, but she was seeking medical help in the matches, so not good.

On the other hand, Egypt at this time of year is scorching - I know I always mention the weather in my posts, but it is a big factor, and in some ways it is very surprising to launch a comeback in such a hot place.

Ranah and Victoria are both up a set - Holly in a first-set tiebreak

Shame Holly couldn't join them but that's three nice wins, with two against better ranked players (one considerably better ranked) so a nice haul today

So perhaps Katie isn't injured but wasn't well enough to play at the weekend.

A great performance here. Four really close games at the start of the first set which isn't reflected in the scoreline.

FQR:- Victoria Allen (GBR) WR1179 def Eva Guerrero Alvarez (ESP) [Q4] WR532 0-6 6-2 10-6   biggrin
