He plays another qualifier, Shin of Korea, in round one. And then the seed in his main draw section lost their opener, so an unseeded Taiwanese awaits in last 16. Could JoMo take advantage ?

Decent draw for JoMo.

A fellow qualifier to in R1, though one that beat the q1 seed. And his potential #7 seed R2 opponent has been knocked out.

Well, it should have been a decent draw but thats a disappointing result to see for JoMo. Looks like hes in China next week in another Challenger, hope he finds his form.

It is interesting watching Paul, Jay and JoMo and whether they can scramble into the French Open Qualifying. The money

gained from just entering would be useful for the grass season where they should get lots of opportunities if they are

fit and healthy.

Id also hoped Oli C might make it, but hes not playing this week and dropping 14 places in the rankings as it stands, so dont think he will have enough runway to get close to the cut sadly.

Those mentioned are going to find it touch and go - when is the FO qualies cut off? Theyll all need a good week or two coming up. Maybe Wimbledon main draw wildcards will be a more realistic target if they can get strong results over the next couple of months. Billy (if he needs one), Jan and Dan would seem likely recipients of a wild card but thered be a couple or three Other Brits ones up for grabs Id expect.

The Slam Q cut-off is normally 4 weeks before the MD start but in this case that would be 28/04, mid Madrid when there will be no new rankings. I assume next Monday's 21/04 rankings will be used. So, with JoMo beaten here, our guys will be done and dusted re any further effect they can have on the RG Q list. The live rankings will indicate their rankings then.
