L16:- Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (GBR) WR190 [6] v Taylah Preston (AUS) WR210

(Wasn't Taylah coached by Pat Cash last year - although he is coaching Qiang Wang now)

Wasn't Maria Timofeeva on the rise last year? I have her in my head as winning a 250 as a lucky loser and making 4R at the Australian Open. I'm guessing she has been injured?

Yes, she won Budapest in 2023 as a LL, and the AO run was Jan 2024 from qualifying. No big gaps in her activity though, but some first round losses. Dropped a lot of points in July 2024 and Jan 2025 from those two tournaments.

Madeleine will need to make the final to improve her ranking but a QF win will give her a useful non-coumter.

Lily won the first set

Taylah just served for the second but Lily broke back 5-5

Got broken again, Taylah has 3 SPs on her serve, where Lily played really well
Lily took a good lead at the start of the TB
Only to eventually lose it, with some weak shots :(

I think Lily won. The score is showing as 5-0 15-0 but they're packing up and walking off. I'd only just started watching so I have no idea what happened before that.
