And a brilliant opening match win for Gordon Reid, who upsets Fernandez in a 3 hour, 3 setter, 6-7 6-4 6-3.
What a win from Gordon. He also has to play top seeded Oda and Frenchman Houdet in his group, but one more win should see him through to the semis as the weak progresses.
Proving to be a good day for the Brits as Andy Lapthorne also causes a seeding upset and beats Kaplan, 7-6 (5) in the final set. 2 hr 44 for Andy after Gordon went 3 hours.
Alfie is in action also now and much more confartable at a set and 4 games up.
Quite some day for the British players in the singles in Arnhem
Alfie made it a clean sweep on day one, good effort from the Brits
Day two order of play:
9.30 GMT - Andy plays Sam Shroder - Andy has lost to Sam just now 6-2 6-2; Sam is seeded top and this would always be tough but Andy will now have a final match later this week against Robert Shaw to secure a place in the semis. Shaw plays Kaplan today, but lost 0 and 0 to Sam.
NB 15:00 - Alfie and Gordon play doubles
NB 16:30 - Andrew Penney and Greg Slade in their respective doubles matches.
Tomorrow, mens singles is back as Gordon plays world number one, Oda. Alfie plays long term rival, de la puente. And Andy plays, with a win taking him to the semis - he plays Robert Shaw
Alfie/gordon and Andrew P play mens doubles second matches, and Andy L kicks off his quad doubles campaign.
Gordon got well and truly outplayed by Oda, 1 and 0. Oda looks in form.
Gordon goes 1 win, 1 loss - will depend on his last match against Houdet now. Houdet plays Fernandez next match, Fernandez should win that but will also most likely lose to Oda, leaving Gordon needing to beat Houdet and go through. Let's see - that is for tomorrow.
Alfie plays shortly and then Andy L is on court in his singles match around late morning - win and he is through.
Alfie/Gordon, Andy P, Andy L all play doubles later this afternoon
Andy L gets lucky as Robert Shaw retires after just one game.
But he will take that and he moves to a 2-1 record.
Schroder plays Kaplan now - a win for the Dutchman as expected and Andy is through; if Kaplan causes an upset, then he will get through with Schroder on sets won and lost.
For reasons I am not sure about, it seems to be unravelling for Alfie - he was serving for the first set, 5-2 I believe, and he has lost 7 straight games and is 2-0 and a set down.
Hope he isnt injured or he can pull himself around here.
Fernandez despatched Houdet in 2 sets and so Gordon needs to beat Houdet tomorrow and he should progress to the semis.
Could also get through with a loss but it will go the some maths, most likely, if that is the case
Alfie went down 7-5 6-4, a surprise given that Alfie really has a dominant H2H over de la Puente.
The upshot is two fold - Alfie should still expect to get through but it is likely he will now meet Oda in the semis, and Oda will be hot favourite. Gordon Reid however, will now be eyeing a semi versus De La Puente, which he may view as a better opportunity than if he had got to play Alfie. One door closes, another opens. De La Puente has won the past 4 of his matches with Gordon but they have all gone to 3 sets and been tough battles; H2H career wise, Gordon leads 7-6. He would probably be underdog but has a chance.
Before then, both Gordon and Alfie need to still win tomorrow and qualify for the semis.
Andy P + his Dutch partner got a solid win over the Italian outsiders; unlikely they will progress beyond the group though.
Andy L and Donald Ramphadi had a disappointingly easy loss to Sasson and Wagner; it also means it is now extremely unlikely they will progress.
So, where are we?
Mens singles - Gordon and Alfie still have to secure it in their final matches, but seem favourites to progress to semis
Quad singles - Andy progresses and goes to a semi with Vink
Doubles - Alfie and Gordon male a good start and should progress but hard to see Andy L and Greg progressing further in the quads, despite only playing 1 match so far. Will probably battle for third place; Andy P in the men's was always an outsider to progress and remains so

Thanks Jon. I have been reading here, just I don't generally follow wheelchair tennis enough to really contribute - other than all the best to the GB players!
