Jay hasn't entered AO qualies the last 2 years even though his ranking has been high enough.

Thats interesting - was he injured both times? Seems happy to travel?

Ive always thought the argument is there are sometimes weaker Challenger events going on in Europe to take advantage of. its a long way to go just for the qualifying tournament, the challengers there are stacked before qualifying. I guess what Im trying to say is its long term gain over maybe a quick payday. Although I think he is in a better place than the last few years so maybe he will go this time.
