Flash floods in Spain

With at least 62 people now reported to have been killed in the south east of the country (the Valencia region has been worst affected) & more than a year's worth of rainfall in eight hours, the situation sounds pretty grim.  I hope things aren't too bad where you are, Bob.

The death toll now stands at at least 205 in the Valencia region.  cry  The incredible thing is that not a single drop of rain fell in some of the worst affected towns!  And now the rain is predicted to move across to the other side of the country, to the Seville area.  no

Some friends of mine in Huelva (west of Seville) reported that they had 110mm of rain overnight. I see flood warnings are out for a lot of places, including Jerez - somewhere I know quite well.

Glad to hear Bob is OK and sympathies to your friends, TA I hope they're safe and continue to stay safe. The losses and the damage and the speed at which it happened are hard to comprehend.

Not seen Bob around for a while (notice he is moving from X to something called BlueSky?) here but with news re Malaga, I hope he isnt impacted in these latest expected floods.

Bob, if you visit, drop us all a note to let us know how things are for you.

Just seen this thread. Managed to avoid the floods where I am - in Alicante region. The nearest floods to me were the ones in and around Valencia which is 2 hours to the north. Tragic what has happened there are the clean up is still going on.

Main reason I haven't been around is that a few weeks ago, we launched our Cricket Schedule at La Manga for 2025 and as I am now responsible for hosting those tours, the last few weeks have been manic in terms of marketing and administration. And if I may just give things a quick plug, if anyone knows any cricket teams that might be interested in a Cricket Tournament in La Manga next spring, send me a PM. We have Men's, Women's and U15s T20 tournaments and a Women's softball festival.
