Always wondered, do you have to have to have entered the tournament to get a WC?
No. But LTA policy is for men WCs are only chosen from those entered unless requested. For women, everyone has to apply for a WC, whether entered or not, and the LTA will require a good reason why they are requesting a WC if they didn't enter, i.e. they can't rely on a WC to get into the tournament.
So it looks like there will be 8 Brits in the main draw (Sonay, Heather, Marni, Jodie, Hannah, Mimi, Ella and Millie), plus any that make it through qualifying (I'm hoping for four although seeding and rankings point to two).
Lily withdrew earlier in the week - not sure why as I didn't think she was injured. She was out on the town with Heather and Jodie yesterday.
Enjoyed watching bits of Hep's match - she played well - fought back in the second set, even though she lost it, to give her impetus going into the third, and never let up
So that's another 3 points
