Corrie is 17 and he plays quite a few futures. He's the younger brother of David Corrie who's also a pro. He had a senior ranking last year when he gained his first points last spring but they've dropped off now so he's currently unranked. He qualified for GB F8 recently, losing 2 and 5 to Auckland in rd1. In Cardiff Ch qualies he beat Colin Fleming 6-3, 6-4 though that wasn't particularly unexpected for certain reasons.
Iain Atkinson is also 17 and gained his first ranking points in GB F8 when he reached rd2. He qualified for GB F7 losing to Matt Smith in rd1.

Despite Turkmenler being the 5th seed, I rate Ed as the favourite for this match. Turkmenler is only ranked 1038 in juniors, doesn't have a senior ranking.
I'm not really sure, considering that they're both ranked fairly low-ish in juniors it would make more sense for them to play some of the clay court futures qualies in Europe.
Edit: I wonder whether they have the same problem which Naomi Cavaday has, ie they can only play a certain number of senior events per year as they're still under 18. They've both played quite a few futures qualies this year.
Either that, or they both feel like boosting their confidence with some easy wins.
However, they could have picked a safer place in the world to do it, after all the problems there've been with British football hooligans in Istanbul, Brits are not exactly popular over there.

Tuna Altuna [who Ed beat in the final] was the no 1 seed. He's 17 and is ranked 337 in juniors.
I think that Ed's greater experience in senior events helped him in this tournament. Having played in the competitive environment of futures and satellites makes the junior circuit seem quite a lot easier when you return to it ! His final opponent had played futures but not since June 2005 !
Regarding Wimbledon juniors, I'm not sure. I'm sure that they'd like to play but no British junior has a high enough ranking to get in directly this year and so they'd all need wildcards. I need to check on how many wildcards there are available. Graeme Dyce, David Rice, Dan Cox, Dan Evans, Sean Thornley, Martin Dalton, Simon Childs, Ed Corrie and Iain Atkinson are all competing for those wildcards.
Agree about Graeme Dyce, he's the no 1 so should get one.
I think that Dan Evans should get one, he's the no 1 U16 in Europe and won back to back junior titles in April, beating Dan Cox and David Rice along the way and Thornley twice. He also took a set off Auckland this year.
3rd would go to Ed Corrie who I reckon is our best U18 player, in terms of playing strength - he beat Fleming in April.
4th would go to either Cox or Thornley or Atkinson. I think they need to playoff for it !
I would give them to Graeme Dyce as the player with the best junior ranking and a lot of potential. Next Dan Cox for undoubted potential and his efforts to make futures draws at his age. Sean Thronley for his win over Colin Fleming. (Or Atkinson) Ed Corrie for this win and his general good play.

What about Dan Evans though ? He has beaten Cox this year and is an equally fine prospect !
