Remembering that performances in Tokyo (where Lloyd and Julian took the title) and Beijing (where Henry is playing the final right now) count towards October PoM considerations.

Going to get this ball rolling as I think we need to recognise a great week:

1. Julian Cash/ Lloyd Glasspool - taking the ATP 500 Japan Open, unseeded. Julians first title at this level and takes him to a new career high ranking; a welcome return to top tier titles for Lloyd. Well done, lads.

Very quickly, end of week 1 for October appears!

DF will no doubt put this weeks runners and riders up in the Friday feeling thread tonight or tomorrow. If anyone wants to nominate players this week or later in the month, just add them to the list above and repost.

2. Megan Knight for (age 13) winning the singles and doubles at the J30 in Loughborough. In the singles, she progressed through the draw without losing a set as a WC and beat the top seed in the final.

(Thanks to CD for all the info in the tournament thread and Megan's thread!)

I believe it's traditional to nominate someone making their first entry into the rankings.

1. Julian Cash/ Lloyd Glasspool - taking the ATP 500 Japan Open, unseeded. Julians first title at this level and takes him to a new career high ranking; a welcome return to top tier titles for Lloyd. Well done, lads.

2. Megan Knight for (age 13) winning the singles and doubles at the J30 in Loughborough. In the singles, she progressed through the draw without losing a set as a WC and beat the top seed in the final.

3. Oli Bonding, aged 17, for getting his first ATP ranking point and therefore his first ranking at a CH of 1936. Also for making the final of the J300 singles in Beijing and winning the doubles (with Roh of Korea) at the same tournament.

4. Olivia Nicholls for consolidating her position as GB doubles No 1 with a new CH of 41. This is resulting from a succesful trip to China with regular partner Tereza Mihalikova. They reached the QF in Beijing beating the top seeds, Dabrowski WR3 and Routliffe WR2 on the way as well as Pegula (CH=1) and Mohammad. In Wuhan they beat Kenin and Mattek-Sands (CH=1) to be continued as they are still there and have two more tournaments to come this month.

Good call, TA. I might need more space in the post box as we get more nominations and narratives coming over the next few weeks, though! Particularly if they do well over the next two weeks! I may ask you to do a bit of subtle editing on it if it grows too much!

Early days in the month, but Liv could prove a good nomination if she can keep her form going.
