Marcus really needs a regular partner, I see he is down to play with David Stevenson again next week in Luedenscheid.

I made a couple of comments on the mixed doubles thread of the Wimbledon section pointing out that Marcus's clown antics on court will go against him when finding a suitable partner. Nobody agreed with me, not that I care, but again I have been proved right. Marcus has played two tournaments with a much lower ranked player and losing on both occasions which shows people are hardly queueing up to partner him.
His partnership with Christian Harrison was looking promising but what happened there? Doubles players on the challenger tour have to get on the main tour to earn a living a won't want to partner a show pony.

I recommend Marcus joins an amateur theatre group or a circus so he can channel his comedy in that direction leaving him free to knuckle down on the court.

He has won a couple of ITF's with David Stevenson who is a dedicated doubles player and has got to four challenger finals now (I think) so with 100% dedication from both players this could well turn out to be a success. I hope so as the cheeky chappie has given us a lot of stories throughout his career and I would love for both him and David to succeed.

Don't forget your rackets Marcus and good luck to you and David next week!!

Im sorry Mark but thats absolutely ridiculous - you cant make a comment like that, its putting words in peoples mouths!

Hes a top 100 doubles player, and got there and maximised his ability thus far acting like he is - why should he change anything?

Yes, Marcus is a gifted doubles player but while he is finally into the top 100 in the rankings, he has spent the vast majority of his pro career very much not maximising his ability and not giving of his best as a professional tennis player.( not that I consider Wimbledon mixed doubles behavior of much consequence at all ).

Doubles ranked 221 in 2014, it is fairly ridiculous that it took until August last year for him to finally break even into the top 200, and indeed he also had much more singles potential than he ever truly realised.

Tbf he has knuckled down to quite an extent very belatedly and had good challenger title wins with different partners ( actually it's 7 challenger titles this year with 6 different partners, suggesting he brings quite a lot to the table ).

There is much I have always loved about Marcus but he has led his own path and even in these better times, he may still carry some reputation with potential.partners that may restrict much further progress

Excuse me, I can make that comment, it is an opinion I am entitled to, the same as yours.  Who on earth do you think you are to tell people what they can and cannot say?

To say I am putting words in peoples mouths is ridiculous in itself, maybe you can't think for yourself but most on here can.

You appear to have completely missed my point in that despite Marcus being ranked where he is he cannot attract any decent partners as the last two weeks testify.
