I was initially disappointed with the qWCs and that a number of college players had been overlooked in favour of the kids. But there are 2 MDWCs where it is not immediately obvious (to me) who has them, and, as Annabelle Davis has a qWC, I'm hopeful (but not expectant) they have gone to Vic, Grace or Alicia D who I would place above Annabelle for any wild cards going. Although that would still mean there are other college players who I'd like to have seen that are missing. But I guess that's the downside of going to college and not having a ranking and needing to be reliant on wild cards.
If they decide to add some younger players, how about Hannah Rylatt 18 JCH179, Allegra Korpanec Davies 16 JCH142, Hannah Read 18 JCH86, Marilee Raath 17 JCH181, Eva Hutchings 15 JCH830.
I don't think Hannah Read or Maralie Raath have shown themselves to be the level in the grass court season so far
Nor really Allegra (and Eva has been playing very junior level events)
Meanwhile, just as a reminder for people (like me!!!) who need it: there's 1 point for winning this QR1 match and another for a win in the next Q round
Livestream seems to have four courts
And Alice Gillan has wrapped her match with a 6-1 6-0 win
Francesca Simpson has also just lost to Mia Slama, who played Junior Wimbly qualis a week or so back, and is obviously using the trip as a good reason to play some more events here

Mia Slama is joining North Carolina State University in the autumn, so with her future having 3 British teammates and 2 English coaches, perhaps she's here to get a taste of the British culture she'll be surrounded by!? Or maybe she's getting some tips from Millie...
