Looks like Joe will be trying to play with Heather at the Olympics instead of Katie then - they will need to make the cut though.

Not necessarily. I think they'd prefer to play together, but will need to make a decision at the Olympics based on the potential entries.

On a separate note, 8 wild cards in a mixed doubles draw of 32 is crazy. Regular doubles has 7 wild cards in a draw of 64.

Yes I know, hence why I said they will be TRYING to play together e.g. it would be Joes preference to play with Heather over Katie.

Presumably Katie will be aiming at singles and womens doubles with Heather , so may not be really interested in mixed, all things being equal. And Joe and Heather would feel like a better pairing if they got the chance, than Joe and Katie. I forget the rules now, would Neal be in the mixed tombola as well?

Only 1 pair per country and 16 pairs. Was 2 pairs per country in previous editions.

Sorry, realise we were saying the same thing. I wonder if there will be a sign up sheet where people can look at who else has entered when making their decision.
