I was intrigued by the name of the city which doesn't look remotely Spanish in origin, so I did a bit of digging. Turns out that it is a reflection of its foundation by Welsh settlers in the second half of the 19th century, "tre" meaning "town" in Welsh & "lew" the first syllable of the surname of one of the two spokesmen who dealt with the Argentine government at the time ("Lewis").
