Where art thou, women?

Marni, Sonay and Katy D are GB #6, 7 & 10 respectely, Isabelle, Alice, Eliz and Mika are #21, 23, 25 & 26 respectively ( #8 & #9 are Fran and Emma ). Other than Beth in Japan, no sign of the 10 players from GB #11 to #20 in Nottingham or elsewhere

Clearly Katie Swan is out of action and maybe Anna Brogan too ( not been in an ITF since January )?

Some of the missing have been concentrating on doubles and/or have been playing for a few weeks in a row in higher tournaments - there are onlythree W75 or W59's this week so could be a good week to miss.

Also, some might have wild cards ..........

Ranah is presumably injured (she withdrew from everything for several weeks in early March), Hannah is playing juniors and Emily A, Eden, Naiktha and Freya withdrew from everything but W100 Portugal and are well down the alt list (presumably prioritising doubles there?). And Matilda is maybe injured as well unless she's focusing on her university studies?

Ha, thank you. So that W100 Portugal alts list contains much of the answer.

There's 8 Brits in the alt list that I would say are likely to at least enter the doubles - and also a few from other countries whose names crop up often.

No juniors high enough ranked to make it automatically

Mika and Talia in qualifying - plenty of Brits in the alts, but not near the top of the list.

Exactly.

And a reasonable chance they'll be a wildcard for at least one of them.

But none is going in directly..... cry
