Nice post on Emily's Instagram storyline. Picture showing Emily, Fabio Lavazza (tennis coach) and Angelica Sara
1003 pro singles matches for Emily and soon to be one for Angelica . Twenty five years between them. Angelica is 14 years old from Italy and I am guessing she's got a main draw wild card. Junior ranked 80.

Angelica is a very interesting youg player
Same year as Hannah Klugman
But about 8 months younger, which makes a big difference
She's one of the very top of the cohort
She's most definitely one to watch
Also, very photogenic, very into Instagram, is signed up by IMG....
Some of her Instagram photos last year were a bit too 'sassy' for a 13 year-old, in my old-fashioned opinion, but I can see why they're popular #disapprovinglook

Just to note in passing, Angelica does have a MDWC and has drawn Alice Rame (FRA) WR463

 Thanks.

And a doubles play too

And quite curious, when she could have played the J200 in Florence too

Welcome to the pros Angelica... Loses after three hours of battling, missing two match points in the second. Talented kid though, can see the potential.

Yes, I enjoyed that match (didn't see the third set - I thought she's lose it quicker than she did, to be fair)

But the first two sets were really enjoyable tennis - and that match point with the ace that was out by a whisker ..... that's all it takes, a whisker.....

Interestingly Em has put the point up zoomed in, it's very very close but I think she might be right and it just clipped the line. But then that should be clear from the mark...

I've just watched this around twenty times, trying to pause the video at the moment of impact and the more I watch it the more I am convinced it actually hits the line. There is another mark though right in the corner which may have confused the issue. I finally captured the ball at the moment of impact. Great serve !

Interesting....

To me, she 'won' the match whatever

As in, even if it were out by a whisker, it counts as winning for development purposes - you're there on MP, and a hair's breadth is neither here nor there

But shame if it actually was in.....
