Week 12/13 - WTA1000 - Miami, USA - Hard


Starting this thread in anticipation as qualifying starts on Sunday 17 March and the main draw will also be made on Sunday.

Katie has direct entry and Emma has a wildcard. Harriet and Heather should bein qualifying.

They played in 2018 with Heather winning 3 & 0

Harriet's draw didn't look too bad at first until I realised that Kasintseva is the Andorran former junior no 1.

Heather has a tough one with Zidansek or Tauson waiting in the second round.

 Its a great draw. Kasintseva hasn't really transitioned to the adult game. 

Hopefully Harriet can take advantage.

According to the TNNS live website Heather should be playing at 14.00 UK time tomorrow and Harriet at 16.30. Tauson will be 15.15 and Kasintseva at 16.30.

 Miami has often given wildcards to non Americans and occasionally unexpected ones - quite often Latin American, it is Miami after all - and this years look like an interesting list. Good to see Kei Nishikori got one in the mens
