Week 11 - ITF W35 Solarino, Italy - Outdoor carpet

QR1:- Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) UNR v Daria KHOMUTSIANSKAYA WR655 [11]

QR1:- Ekaterina Reyngold (***) WR504 [5] v Lonja Engemise (GBR) UNR/UNR

The live scores say it is Joy Christelle Lonja Engemise but I'm none the wiser. She played Emily Appleton in QR1 at Loughborough in October 2022 and lost 0 & 1 in her only recorded match on the ITF profile.

Nice draw for Marni. First a LL, then if she gets through that a WC or a Q (but it is Urszula Radwanska)

Marni had one of her moments when leading 6-0 4-1, and had to break serve at 5-6* to save the second set.

Yeah she was on the verge of a horror collapse from 5-2* but salvaged it.

Well done.

Pity but some carpets appeal to people more than others.

Still, Marni will be provisionally up to a further CH around WR 270 and up to GB #8.

Em and Sofia don't have a great record in MTBs, but they smashed it today to win 3-6 6-4 10-1
