Week 10/11 - WTA1000 - Indian Wells, USA Hard

Q1: DART, Harriet (GBR) (10) 91 (CH=84 2022) v SEMENISTAJA, Darja (LAT) 115 (CH=111 2024)

Q1: WATSON, Heather (GBR) 131 (CH=38 2015) v MASAROVA, Rebeka (ESP) (15) 97 (CH=62 2023)

They have played twice before with Heather winning on both occasions.

Jodie Burrage?, Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter should be in the Main Draw. Jodie was only a couple of places above Harriet in the acceptances for the Q draw so it's odd she is not in the Q draw.

Jodie has withdrawn. Probably still carrying that ab injury and would explain her result last week.

Not heard of Harriet's opponent but she must have some spunk if she's recently made a career high just outside the top 100. Might not be easy.

As going by Tennis Forum she did not enter in advance how many OSE entries are there for Heather to enter the doubles?

Last year Darja Semenistaja won 3 60k titles (all clay), 1 40k (hard) and was a finalist in a 25k. This year she has already won a 40k (by retirement) and WTA125 title, both on hard.

5. I would think they'll be taken by highly ranked singles players.

Thanks.

If she paired with Katie would Katies improved ranking next week be taken into account?

Could present a stiff challenge then......

I think it should be a walk in the park for Harriet if she is at her best. I have seen quite a bit of this player and I do not think her ranking warrants her level as she seems to travel to easier tournaments to pick up her points.

Hoping some of the Brits can do well at Indian Wells.
I am knocking off one of my bucket list trips as am there from Friday to the following Thursday and have tickets for each day.
Will try and send some live updates. . .
