15ks is a bit low, 25Ks not so bad. I see he is down for 2 15ks in Croatia then off to Barcelona for a 25k. All on clay. The following week Girona has a challenger hopefully he then steps up to that.
Good win for Jay, a tough round one opponent. Mili has good potential but hasnt quite transitioned that from Juniors. Watched him at Wimbledon qualifying last year, he had a wc from winning junior Wimbledon the previous year. I thought he looked good but maybe not the level of fitness for the mens tour.
At the moment Jay still only has 14 counters, so all points at any level of tournament will help boost his ranking. I imagine he will be hoping to get lots of wins and match practice to boost his chances at the Challengers in the UK in a couple of months time.
Jay has been a bit contradictory in the past in statements about what he thinks is his best surface. Though it may indeed be far from clear.
But fair enough if he wants to concentrate on clay ITFs for now and these have been giving him plenty matches plus have been helping build his ranking back up a bit before the grass season.
