Melisa is the ex-Turkish 18 year-old that Katie beat 6-3 6-2 at Burnie at the start of Feb

Hoping for a similar result

SHe also beat Lily in QR1 at the AO - but hasn't had much success since then - three first round wins in three tournaments.

Looking at Katie's stats, I suspect she's still carrying an injury. She only got 4 out of 19 (21%) 1st serves in in the 2nd set. She was easily broken on her last 2 service games but had 4 break points, which she failed to convert, in Ercan's last 2 service games.

Oh, very nice work by Marni! Will be good to see how she measures up against Hon. Their only previous match (that I can see) in July 2022 went to Hon in 3 sets.

Top seed it is for Marni

QF:- Anarni Banks (GBR) WR305 v Priscilla Hon (AUS) WR170 [1]

The WTA says their only meeting was indeed in Nottingham in 2022 when Hon won (6)6-7 6-3 6-4
