Once Katie got on top Marta had a mini implosion, but Katies level increased massively compared to first set. The weight of her shot and ability to pepper the lines in second and especially the third a huge difference maker. If she continues on this arc she will certainly move further up the rankings. Highest ranked Brit - male or female now.

What a great week for Katie. She beat five top-50 players thus week, and is up 22 places in the new rankings to 27.
And with just 20 points dropping from Indiam Wells qualifying last year and none from Miami she may well climb higher before the end of the month.

She's not only taken out her own CH, but also surpassed Heather's and equalled Laura's (27) - so I can only think of two Brit women with a better CH this century - Emma and JoKo.
