Week 3 - ITF W35 Sunderland, GB - Indoor Hard

Qualifying draw is out, and I will post it later.

QWC's for Aimee Knowles, Amelie Brooks, Ava Williamson, Francesca Simpson and Allegra Korpanec Davies

Emily Appleton should be in the main draw, along with Beth, Katy and Sonay. Rana should have a SE, and the MD wild cards could be between Alice, Danielle, Emma and Bronte with a few others also missing from qualifying.

I'm not sure Ranah has an SE, she would have had to made the final.

Wildcards seem to be Ranah, Eliz, Alice and Emma Wilson(based in the area)

Eliz is in the qualifying draw.  Bronte could possibly be the other WC?

I wonder if Hep never made it to Australia (hence the withdrawal there) and has the last wildcard here?

Not sure why they've given Brooks, Knowles and Williamson qWCs. They were the 3 next in after the last in directly. Not that it particuarly matters; it won't count as a used WC unless they get a WTA point.

I suppose they felt they had to use them, but couldn't come up with any candidates. I was interested to see how Amelie gets on after recent British Tour performances, but I the draw hasn't been kind.

I know Aimee Knowles is local to the area and wasn't sure of qualification, so was a straight forward choice

So, with the help of the tennis gods, we seem to have got one win today - Cesca Simpson won 5-1 ret.

Sorry, I didnt explain myself properly. I'm not questioning their choice as wild cards, just as the next 3 in, there was the choice not to use those WCs and they'd be in directly. I'm being pedantic as it's not important for these players but it could be for anybody that are particularly restricted on the number of WCs they have and that qualifies.
