Week 3 - Australian Open Grand Slam - Melbourne, Australia Hard

Anyone seen the entry list for the doubles ? I presume Maia is playing with Kalashnikova (as in Hobart) but I don't suppose anyone else will make the cut.

Thanks. Wasn't expecting to see Katie B on the list and Sam has just scraped in as last entry.

Looks like the doubles matches start on Tuesday 16/01 and the mixed on Thursday 18/01

Just looking at Emma's draw. She should beat Shelby, who she beat 2 & 1 in the 2021 US Open and who has also been out injured. Then based on ranking she should play the 22nd seed Cirstea WR26 who Emma beat at Wimbledon in 2021. That would be close but Emma may have the edge. In the third round it would be 12th seed Zheng, unless Katie gets that far, a tough ask at this stage of Emma's come back but you never know. Then 5th seed Pegula - not much chance of going further at this stage. Three wins would be a very good result for Emma at this stage.

You never know with Emma, whatever happens she has a better draw than last AO. Fingers crossed for all the Brits! Looking forward to the next fortnight. Dont have Sky so will be relying on this message board for updates! Cheers.

PS I take that comment back about watching live and not having Sky. I pay an add on to get Discovery+ on Amazon Prime and Round 1 is scheduled as upcoming , saying I have access. Maybe worth oooking into if you have Amazon Prime. I think I pay and extra £6.99 a month, or maybe I have it wrong?

Yes, Discovery have the rights to the Australian Open. By all accounts though, you're better off accessing Discovery Plus directly through their app as the user interface on Prime is poor. Never had it myself so only going through what I've heard in multiple places, here included.

Its Ok when you get the hang of it and online support was good last year when I ran into issues. I watch Amazon Prime anyway so the add on makes it a cheap option. Will post how I get on. Thanks Lambda.

She played fantastic first set but as soon as she got broken in second set it was downhill. Korpatsch just had to be solid from then on. Seen too many of these performances
