Alfie and Gordon are playing the Miami Open Invitational this week. Gustavo Fernandez and tournament director Shingo Kunieda make up the 4 player field. No Brits in the 4 player women's field. The matches are planned to be on Butch Buchholz and Grandstand courts.

Kunieda, Alfie and Gordon seem to have played a few of these with one in Brazil a few weeks back, something at IW as well. Hopefully they are making some decent money. Kunieda is the most decorated player of all time, and quite possibly would still be world number one or certainly top 3 if he still played - a bit like Federer, he only retired a couple of seasons ago - and is clearly doing well in promoting the sport.

The mens and womens draws double in size to 16 entrants now, which is great news, in line with the other slams. They have kept quad at 8 players, which is a shame (the AO had 16 this season) but at least it is a decent step forward.

With the depth of fields, 16 feels like the right size, 32 would be too stretched. The depth in quad tennis is less than mainstream mens or womens, but it still feels like it could have been increased to 16, maybe next season it will also increase

In Daegu, Cornelia lost her opening singles; Lucy had a bye to the last 16.

In the doubles, Cornelia is with Swiss player, Buob, and Lucy partners van Koot of the Netherlands (they are seeded second).

Lucy went out in a surprise opening loss today, so thats disappointing.

She and Cornelia are still in doubles and play each other in the last 8.

Alfie played and beat Gordon in Miami. the retired Kunieda beat Fernandez easily and plays Alfie today; Gordon faces Fernandez for third place

kunieda beating fernandez so easily is stunning. I wonder if he will make a comeback?

Alfie lost his Miami match with kunieda , straight sets. Amazing from the Japanese given he retired over a year ago. Like Federer coming back and beating Sinner or some such

Well done to Lucy and de Koot, for winning the Daegu Series 1 doubles in Korea, seeded
Second, they beat the top seeds; for Lucy, that is back to back doubles titles

The ITF Series 1 event, the Korean Open, starts in Seoul today. As well as Lucy and Cornelia continuing their Korean journey of the past two weeks, Gordon Reid joins them in the mens event.

Gordon is seeded 2 in mens singles and isnt playing doubles.

Lucy is seeded 4 in womens singles and top seed in womens doubles with her Chinese partner, Zhu. Cornelia plays doubles with Buob of Switzerland (who she partnered in Daegu last week) and unseeded in both singles and doubles.

In the Seoul Korea Open, Cornelia won her opening singles and doubles today, and Gordon won his opening singles.

Gordon and Lucy won their singles today and are into the last 8; Cornelia got thumped 12-1 but she and Lucy both remain in womens doubles.

Disappointing day in Seoul. Gordon went down to his lower seeded Dutch opponent in the last 8; Lucy lost to her lower seeded opponent at the same stage.

So singles are over for the British players.

Lucy won her doubles QF match and is into the last 4 (they are top seeds) , although Corneila + lost in the QF round.

Just Lucy left in womens doubles now, then.

Next week heralds the third Super Series of 2024 in Japan.

Good overview from the LTA, confirming Alfie, Gordon and Lucy will play. Alfie will be top seed and lock horns with home star, Oda, as they resume their battle for top spot.

Unsuccessful finish in Seoul for Lucy - seeded one, she and her Chinese partner got beaten 1 and 2 by their Chinese opponents.

Still, two titles and a RU from 3 doubles events in Korea, onto the big Japanese event now.
