Week 1 - WTA125 - Canberra, Australia Hard

HD about to serve for the match, although there has been a few breaks so not counting chickens. Standard from both players pretty high despite stormy conditions.

Impressive , great week for Harriet.

Is my maths correct that shell be equal on points with Jodie if she wins the final? Whod be higher in the rankings if that happened?

That's a super win. looks like it was a very even and tough match, lots of breaks and long games.

Will next weeks rankings come soon enough to be used for Aussie Open qualifying?

No, it starts Monday so the draw will be on Sunday with current rankings used for seeding.

And it looks like the latest withdrawals should sneak Heather into a top 32 seeding for qualies, which could make a big difference.

From what I can see on her results this is Harriet's biggest ever final, and first WTA?

Yes, they'd each be on 733 points. FWIW I believe Jodie would still be ahead based on a greater ranking points haul at WTA tour level and above.

The latest shown is Harriet as 8th seed in qualifying and Heather at 32.
