Oops. Lost the last 6 games in a row. Not an ideal start to the year but never mind.

Shame that she lost. She has only two points to defend in January and that is from the AO. However February is an entirely different kettle of fish.

She lost 6-3 1-6 3-6

Hmm shame. Should have been an easy win.

Anyone watch and saw what happened?

Somnez went onto beat Sasnovich is straight sets which is another decent result for her. Shame Heather lost, but perhaps suggests her opponent is in good form.

Does anyone know if Naiktha is on the Australian Open doubles alternate list and with whom? Kalashnikova is playing with Lumsden in Melbourne.

She isn't in the top 5 alternates but could be lower down.

Cut off is comparatively low for a Grand Slam, although great that's allowed Sam to sneak in.
