Week 49 - ITF W100 - Dubai, UAE Hard

In the early stages of the match I didn't think she was looking anything like as fluent as earlier in the week. That was a great effort to turn the set around and win a confident tie break.

Yeah great turn around, saved a couple of set points and saved break points at *5-5.

Better crowd today as well.

Excellent tie-break

Heather's backhand returns of serve this week have been just lethal

Hartono serves for the match at 4-5* in the third, goes up 40-0. And Heather wins 5 points in a row.

But she misses 10(!) game points at *5-5 as Hartono will get another go. Mostly all lost due to second serve return winners.

Hitting is getting desperately ferocious from both. What a battle. But that's a blow. Game lasted forever.

Yes, excellent grit and offensive play from both women

A tie-break it is.....

What a shame

But, on the other hand, what a very good second and third set (didn't see the first)

Both women were playing very well

It would have been a crying shame if Hartono had lost too

It really was so close, and both of them really going for it

Argh. So close. Her backhand was so sweet today, played very well over all. Just not to be.

Such a shame but a great couple of weeks all the same.

What a shame for Heather. She's played so well these past couple of events, but will be kicking herself she didn't win one of the matches against Andreeva and Hartono. It's the latter stages when the biggest points are on offer.

Our girls aren't messing about in the doubles. 6-0 first set.

Wow, that is emphatic. And must have been a great improvement on yesterday. Sadly my internet went down for a while and I missed it.
