Argh Emma.

Led *5-2, was 6-1* up in the breaker. Served back to back doubles at *6-3, had two more individual set points later on, lost it 13-11...

Isa Lacy played a pretty poor tiebreak, too, to end up losing the first set :(

Wasted a couple of set points earlier on as well, at *5-2 and 5-3*

I wonder why Holly isn't playing doubles - she could have partnered Katie and been in with a good chance.

Katie has enough problems keeping fit as it is theres absolutely nothing to be gained by her playing doubles.

Such a shame for Katie as I believe she could have been the GB number 1 at present if she stayed injury free if we discount Emma.

Yeah I agree Jaggy. Katie needs to be able to get through a singles match without falling apart, no need for her to add doubles to her schedule just now.

I guess Maddy didn't want to stay for a second week after they lost early last time, but I'm surprised Holly didn't get another partner. Draw is very weak.

I wasn't serious about Katie playing doubles, more surprised that Holly didn't get a partner.

I don't think Holly was on any of the acceptance lists so would have been a late entry with the WC. She may have been short of time to find a doubles partner.

Holly and Maddie were down to play the three events in Japan, but missed the cut so returned to Europe - that's why they weren't on any acceptance lists.

I agree about the singles, but Holly has been out there for over a week. Perhaps Maddie made a late decision to return home rather than play a second week.
