pictures of where you live

Considering that members of this board are quite dispersed over the world, I thought it might be a spiffing idea to see pictures of where people live. I will start. I live in a city called Tainan which is in Southern Taiwan.

This is a street near where I live at dusk

street cleaning and scooters (there are millions of them here)

the end of my street, which is built on ancient temple grounds

me on the beach

not me on the beach

people on the beach

I live in Letchworth Garden City, a town in North Herts about 30min north of St Albans and 45 min north of London [you can get to London in 30min if you tank it]. It's the world's first garden city [designed in 1903] and contains the world's first roundabout about 1 min away from where I live.

Other highlights of Letchworth is that it's the only place in Britain where there are black squirrels:

Here are some photos:

[1]: Tennis club indoor courts - acrylic and very fast and bouncy. The pic shows Arvind playing on them:

[2] Tennis club green clay courts - slow, high bouncing and a little slippy:

[3] Tennis club outdoor carpet

[4] Me in action attacking a forehand indoors

[5] This is where I do my exams - an AQA centre - horrible place
I will be sitting in there next Wednesday and many, many more times in June

[6] Cloisters - go back to the 1800s

[7] Black squirrel

[8] Sollershott Hall

[9] Norton Common

[10] Original Garden City houses

[11] Town hall

amazing thing that google map. I found the building where I lived, its just to the left of your flag with a dome on the roof. number 583 commercial road. opposite a pub that used to be the king's head but that was about 15 years ago. i looked for tainan but there is no detail available for it.

Montana, are you using IE? the dashboard is different. if you have firefox, there is a button that says 'img'; just press it and paste the url of your picture. if you dont have firefox, you should. it is much better. get it here.

Yes, it was a church then too. 'The East End Mission' it was called. I rented a room above the church. I remember telling you about it before mkk, the vicar was a crazy old guy with a huge Great Dane called Sebastian. There was a story about him in the news of the world a few years ago because he was running a brothel from the basement. we knew all about it of course. I lived there when I was 16 and he taught us how to cheat the dole, smoke cigarettes and read people like Marx and Bertrand Russell (of all people).
