The official website has a list of players - no Brits in the main draw unless they should get wild cards.

Heather was definitely on the original Alts list

Maia is in Osaka, so she and Naiktha should be in the doubles.

Odd that Harriet played the challenger in Tokyo but isn't playing this? Although actually top qualy seed is outside the top 150 so it's possible that list is just a little out of date and she's snuck in to the Main Draw.

Another black mark against the WTA. What a shambolic organisation. Why the big secret about who is in what tournament and who is withdrawing.

R1: DART, Harriet (GBR) 144 (CH=84 2022) v FRUHVIRTOVA, Linda (CZE) (4) 56 (CH=49 2023)

Linda is still a junior, turned 18 this year
Was rising high and doing great, predicted as the next mega deal in Czech tennis, along with younger sister, Brenda
But there's been problems this summer

She's lost in the first round of the last 5 events she's played. Talk of injury issues but she's been playing...

Certainly can't be feeling confident and most definitely not playing her ranking at the moment so Harriet should have every chance

I think was *2-5 down but has turned it around, won five games in a row, and took the first set 7-5.

She was indeed. Missed two break points at 2-4*, then broke from 0-30* when Linda served for it.

Great effort to turn it round.
