Katy got in direct.

MD - Anna Brogan, Emily Appleton, Eliz Maloney, Marni Banks, Katy Dunne + 4 wildcards and and qualifiers.

Should be some good points for GB athletes this week.

Hep is also on the entry list and a contender for a wildcard.

THere's a lot of juniors, some quite young, in that quali draw - will be interesting to see how they do

Also some names one hasn't seen for a long time (or ever, in one case, for me)

(PS Just a tiddly thing Peter, but you've got Lukosiute as Ellie, and GB, whereas she's Andre and Lithuanian)

No idea who Madison Peters is but she's just been on the receiving end of a golden set!

Poor Annabelle Davis was totally outclassed. She lost 0-6 0-6.

would put anyone off playing tennis again.

She did w25 Nottingham last week of April. There was a discussion then about her being a student there possibly and giving it a go as she could get into qualifying.

Annabelle won about a third of all the points - she won 33% of all service points and 31% of all receiver points, and the match took an hour

That's hardly a complete washout - far from it

(it doesn't look anything like Madison Peters' stats which, indeed, are completely one-sided)

Poor girl, enough to put anyone off. She did win a point in each of the last two games of the match though.

14 year old Spohie Bekkar just defeated the 11th seed 6-2 6-4. Does anyone know anything about her, she has no ranking at senior level, though she does have a junior high of 671.

Sophie Bekker is a very talented young player, born 2008.  Younger brother Leon, also talented.  Russian parents, very rich and determined.  She was at Dukes Meadow for a while, then Reeds Tennis school.  She's been playing mostly abroad.  She was beating many players (Mika S, for example, could never get a look in) but seemed to slip in standard and not sure why.  I think she played for GB 14s a couple of years back. Seems to be finding her form again.
